If this doesn't sell soon I may change my mind and keep it. Every time I think about keeping it, though, I remember that once this sells, I'll be one trade-in away from a 2011 Mustang. I don't know- we'll see.

Today I started out by changing the oil, then I installed the KYB GR-2s on all four corners. Not too bad of a job; didn't even pull a single tire. While the back end was up I replaced the fuel level sending unit, as the original was having problems and not reading properly.

From there, I was getting annoyed at the idea of selling a car with a broken gauge on it, so I went and picked up a new temperature gauge sensor. When I removed the original sensor is when I realized it had an air pocket, which is probably why it wasn't working. I cracked open the radiator cap just enough to let the coolant slowly flow out of the sensor opening as I screwed in the new one... and the gauge now works. Simple enough, right?

Then I went to wash the dust off the windshield and remembered the sprayer hasn't sprayed since I got the car running again... which could very well be due to the fact I swapped in the '90 TC assembly and may have screwed up something... so I tinkered around, found that the pump is running. I disassembled all the stuff around the sprayer and pulled the hose and frikkin' shot myself in the eye with windshield wiper fluid... which told me A.) I'm a dumbass; and B) The sprayer is plugged. So I pulled the sprayer, cleaned it out, and now that's working as well.

I ran into some problems with the headlight switch assembly, but I'll hopefully have that resolved tomorrow after a quick run to the junk yard.

So after today it's riding a lot smoother, running cleaner, reporting temps and fuel levels properly, and making me not want to sell it all over again... but it's still hard to argue with putting all the money into this that I want only to still have to fork out more money if anything else breaks...

when I can have a 395 RWHP Mustang GT with Brembo brakes, 3.73s, a six-speed manual transmission, and a factory warranty.

Keep the wagon. Save a hell of a lot of money, and build up something different than all of the other people who show off just by opening up their wallets and purchasing vehicles. You have a chance to make one.

To build the 408 I want will be about $6k, roughly speaking. A transmission capable of holding the power will set me back another $4k. There's still $5k for air ride, $4k for wheels, body repair, paint, tint, and exhaust... and that's not even touching the interior...

I figure I'd have over $20k in it before it's even close to what I really want. I'm not trying to show off- I'm trying to have a car I really like. The wagon is cool for now, but who's to say I don't drop $10k into the driveline, then something go wrong and obliterate my $6k motor? That'd be another $6k to get it back to good, while if I get out while I can and buy a Mustang, anything that breaks is going straight back to Ford... and it'll all be 2011 design and technology as opposed to 1990 design with some 2000 technology spliced into the mix.

Rebuilt the rear door window motors today and lubricated the sticky lock on the rear passenger door. It's that much closer to having zero mechanical problems. Just front passenger lock solenoid and tailgate lock and window motor.

Today I drove a 2010 Mustang GT. It's a beautiful car, sounds great, etc... but the space is VERY limited and I'm a big boy. I'm genuinely thinking about keeping the wagon. I'll need to think it over hard. Current focus is closing on the house a week from Tuesday, then I'll figure out what to do from there.

Thanks, man. Nothing about this house has been a smooth process yet, but we're not giving up. Hopefully on the 27th the process will be over and we can move in. We rode by it today and the sellers had lots of boxes stacked in the garage, which was pretty exciting.

As for the wagon I'm torn. I can't stop working on it but I'm still not sure I'll keep it. Tonight I pulled the main framing of the roof rack then screwed the bolts back in to keep it from leaking too badly. The runners are still in place but the whole car looks 10x better without that roof rack on it.

Yes, Sir! If my buddy doesn't buy them I'm going to drop off the P heads to have the new springs and valve stem seals installed this week, then after we're moved into the house I'll pull the motor and start putting everything together.

I took a quick pic this morning to show its stance with the springs all settled in and the cargo rack removed- I'll try to post them up later.

A good buddy of mine who needed a place to crash last night.

I've been crunching numbers on the Mustang... going to order it with the Brembo brakes, 19" wheels, 3.73s, active security system, FRPP 1.5" drop springs, FRPP short throw shifter, and have the dealer get the windows tinted before I take delivery.
