      No lies, no slander!

Friday I ordered a set of Speedway springs to drop it down a bit and tighten up the suspension. Last night I ordered a set of center caps for the 18s. That's why I haven't taken pictures yet- it looks like garbage without the center caps. I'm anxious to get those caps and springs installed so it'll look less ghetto.

Today I went to the junk yard. I pulled another GT40 intake since I promised Scott I'd send him the other one. I also pulled a pair of exhaust manifolds from a '90 Town Car. This way I'll be able to take literally one step at a time and do the head/cam/intake swap without having to dive off into the cost of a new exhaust system at the same time. I'm aware the stock single exhaust will be a massive choke, but it'll help me keep things situated properly to not be forced to do it all at once.

I was also able to find a washer fluid reservoir with a good pump and a low fluid sensor. I'll wire the new connectors to my stock stuff and hook it up when I get a chance. That'll finalize the clean "stock cold air" install.

Then on the way out I found an Explorer Sport, which had the black grill and headlight surrounds, so I snatched those for my Ex so I can ditch the chrome grill since the front bumper is now black.

1992 Explorer Eddie Bauer, slight lift, 34s, and A/C...
1979 Bronco Custom, 351M/C6/NP205, 4" lift, 35s, lots of fender trimming.

What car and year did the washer fluid reservoir come out of?

1990 Town Car. They have a bunch of them at the yard right now. I could get you a bottle if you'd like. I'll ship you the bottle, you ship me that pillar pod you have.

I dont have a low washer fluid light to worry about installing a low washer fluid equipped reservoir. Thanks though.

Today my dad and I finally made time to transfer the title. I went ahead and insured and tagged it. $80/mo for a car I'll barely drive. Insane!

The springs should be here Wednesday. I'm ready to have this bad boy going. I want to hit the dyno and the track while it's still stock to get an idea of some sort of baseline, then start adding the goodies and track its progress.

Soon, man. I promise. I'm planning to finish the Explorer Tuesday, so Sunday I'll be able to throw on the drop springs and get some shots of it. I just don't like taking pictures during the ugly stages. Sitting on 18s that don't even have center caps at stock height is ugly to me. I tagged it today but very likely still won't even drive it until it's dropped and the center caps come in the mail.

Besides... I have a metric butt ton of parts piled in it that I need to install and/or store up in the garage!

                        would be perfectly acceptable.

                        x1 is entirely negligible.

Insurance in the state of Louisiana is terrible. So many lawsuits and uninsured drivers and whatnot.
It would be $50/mo for flat out minimum coverage. Another $30/mo for uninsured motorist, which I refuse to drive without.

The only vehicle that doesn't have uninsured motorist coverage is the Explorer because I rarely drive it on the streets and almost no matter how someone hits me in that, they're going to be fucked.

It'll all drop a bit more once they process the marriage paperwork and add my wife to the policy.

Okay, guys- I tinkered with it just a little this afternoon (managed to fix the stubborn glove box) and went ahead and snapped a quick shot so you can see where it sits at this point in time.

I have Speedway springs on my living room floor waiting to be installed and I have center caps coming in Friday. Between the two, it should look a decent bit better. It appears low in the rear because it's on uneven ground and the driver side is in a dip.

I drove it about half a mile, just to see how it'd do taking off and it seems fine. It's still smoking a bit under a load, but I'm sure that'll clean out once I've driven it for a few days. I just didn't want to go far because I still haven't filled the tank all the way and it's still loaded down with extra parts.
