I called my uncle and nearly everything is done and it will be ready friday nite for sure.
the motor is running, the floor shifter is in and the gauges are laid out and set inside the dash.
all that remains is wiring up the gauges.

and the car has been driven once, so it does run just fine.
      Very, very kewl!!!

so I called him again to make sure he was putting in the Trans Cooler and new Speedo gear...he informed me that they have to repaint the metal for the gauge cluster since they scratched it up a bit during install...and they think it will dry in time, but if its not done friday nite, it will be done saturday for sure.
I took that opportunity to tell him to paint that section in a Satin black instead of a really glossy black liek the other dah pieces...I think it woul dlook better in a Satin finish since it would match the gauge faces a little better.

Agreed, satin black should be good for your gauge panel. I'm very interested to see how he's installing it!

Seemed to work fine, so I don't know that there's any difference in how they're machined. Unless I'm misunderstanding your meaning, Thain.
well, in theory (here we go again), its supposed to be machined down for the guide plates. I dunno, maybe thats only if its got the larger type holes or specific types of rockers. I don't mess much with heads modded to do stud mounts. Chevys dont use guide plates, and my old Ford D0 heads with the rail rockers do not use guide plates. I personally hate those f'n chevy rockers, so I'll stick with pedestals.

well, I didnt exactly have a choice...so I just sat around...trying to keep busy...studying the Watchtower for the sunday meetings...studying the Revelation book for thursday...studying the KM for tuesday....

but yea, should be done today as long as the paint dries on the gauge cluster.
I'm in my Ford Racing shirt and gots my driving gloves in my pockets....I'm all ready.

ooooh....9 hours mangs...9 hours and I should have my "X" edition!

my uncle's words on thursday afternoon: "if it's not done friday nite, it WILL be done saturday...but it should be done friday if the paint dries quick enough."

I would go under the assumption that you're not going to get it today. The day will go by a little faster.

                      I'm 99% sure I will be done...
there is a tiny bit of doubt...but not a significant amount...if I assume it wont be done, my day will go by with me in a bad mood.

So if you do get it tonight whatcha gonna do with it? Tis a Friday so can't do nothing stupid cause the cops will be out, and you already got you a ticket for being stupid once, best you ca ndo is take it for a cruise and maybe light up the tires once or twice... or you got other plans?

I'll just drive it...let it see different rpms, but not get on it really hard....normal runs all the way up to the 6K rpm range..but not WOT from 1200-6000rpms ....yet.
gonna go out to Buffalo Wild Wings tonite with some friends...

my uncle made sure to tell to not be ungodly rough with it, but make sure I dont drive it like a 80yr old either.
and to not go on the expressway because the steady rpms wouldnt be good for it.

Yeah, but he didn't need to change the engine for that:heyhey:. Just a new rear seat cover woulda done the job.

Colin wants another Box for a DD so I can build a mild HO powered Box.
