Got to play with it after work today...
I put the tires from my turbines on it - this thing has 15x8 wheels!
and I broke a center cap screw off in the wheel... Also fresh oil - Alldata says it takes 6qts, the dipstick says it wants 7
Still running/shifting much better for the 5-10 miles Ive put on it, but it sometimes still needs the gas "nursed" to get it to start and help it find its idle if its had time to cool off. Does this sound like a symptom of a vehicle 'loosing its prime' as they say? The fuel pump on the rail definitely sounds sick I noticed tonight... it sounds like a dying window motor when it primes. Also it seemed to have more trouble when parked on an incline...
I keep forgetting to mention I broke the fan shroud the rest of the way (it was already held together with zip ties) and what do you know, a '90 TC shroud fit the radiator like a glove! Too bad the other side was way off from the fan... lol. Good news is, the shroud is thin enough to still clear the fan with an inch to spare, even though they dont line up. I left it for now, just to help prevent any personal interference with the fan.
Also I keep forgetting to mention the previous owner told me it had a new carburetor on it
And, two of the five grease fittings in the steering linkages were MISSING. As in empty holes. Bastards... I'm surprised they weren't shot... I'll have to keep a close eye on them now that it will be getting used regularly...
