yeah not unreasonable, most important thing, its not climbing which means its able to shed enough heat. If it kept getting hotter you have other problems. usually the radiator is clogged if the clutch is good.

Good to hear. I can’t really watch it since there’s no gauge so I just check it after a long drive. Also, I believe I’m completely ready for this r134a conversion now. I wanna make sure I got everything, this look correct? Also need to know what I need to buy with the vacuum pump too, so I can order that as well.

Ditch the expansion valve (not for factory a/c on this car), service valve core kit (not needed - your hose and accumulator will have those already installed), and the temp sensor (unless that's for some other reason than the a/c). You need to add an accumulator. I'm willing to bet the compressor will leak at the shaft seal if it's original. But you can try to vacuum it down and see if it holds.

Bought a vacuum pump and a gauge set and that had all I needed except a can tap.

Got it. Temp sensor was something I’ve been meaning to replace, just gonna get one cause I believe I had a code thrown for it a while back but I can’t check because ECM won’t give me codes anymore.

I have had better luck with OEM pressure switches but I am certain others here will say otherwise.

I’ll just keep the OEM one on and see what happens

The only two bad ones I've ever had were NOS.

Guess it happens but I have never been able to find that "sweet spot" on aftermarket ones that didn't leak. Maybe I just got some bad ones (like can happen on OEM) but no matter where I tighten them, they always leaked. Not tight enough or too tight but there was always a leak.

Ok all the lines and orifice tube came in and I’m waiting for the drier on Tuesday, I just need to know what I should do with this contaminated refrigerant in the system. Most of it has leaked out but I do not want to vent it.

you have it recovered by someone with a refrigerant recovery machine.

I thought most shops wouldn’t recover it if it had been contaminated

Also, found an oil leak. I wasn’t able to get under it yesterday but I thought it was a leak from the crankshaft seal but i got under it today and It looks like the oil pan to me. I’ve been checking for leaks every now and then and didn’t see any puddles till yesterday. Drivers side valve cover had a bit of an oil leak but that was fixed by PO.

what has it been contaminated with?

your options are recovery or vent it. If its mixed with some unknown gas, nobody is going to touch it without stupid money being paid to dispose of it and replace the filters and all that on the machine so I'll let you work out the logical conclusion.

Figures. Someone mixed r12 and r134. Didn’t want to have to but it is what it is.
