That's exactly why I deceided against getting headers for my lopo.

Those stock manifolds are crap tho. Would be better off with Mustang headers or really almost anything. 90 Townie tubular manifolds might be slightly better than the cast logs, but I doubt its substantially better.

Four factory cats Vs. two high-flow aftermarket cats. I wonder if my car will be any louder? I love the sound now, I don't want it to be too extreme.

I could have got those 90 TC manifolds for $10 in the boneyard, but I did'nt really think it would be worth the time to pull them for the small ammount of performance they would give over the stockers.I'm gonna be shopping around for a good deal on some new equal length ceramic coated headers for teh exploder in the next couple months though.

some say that the each cat takes half the sound out SO if that is right than yes it would be louder. plus it would sound better too we did that with the cop car

I have stock logs, 2 stock original cats, H pipe and cheapie turbo mufflers going into stock dual tails. The sound is very quite with only a low, mellow rumble while driving and a nice "purrr" at idle. The sound reminds me of what cars from the 60's sounded like with stock exhaust and big V8's.
I decided to gut my cats out with a long bar, they're open about 2" hole though them now. I noticed no change in sound or power.

Ultimatley I plan to run aftermarket shorties, aftermarket catted H pipe, on to strait pipe the rest of the way out. When I had a single strait pipe the sound was great. If i dont like it with duals Id add mufflers later.
