my car starts and it has AC. Yours doesn't start and it has no AC. Seems obvious to me.

amazing how well that fits. would be no prob without a trunk muncher and no prob at all in a Mercury. kinda makes me wish there was a version of that which loaded the spare tire in it. Might have to build one if I ever get ambitious... probably about the time I actually upgraded stuff on that car (beater). I need to win the lotto or something.

Seen this photo of a spare fitting in place. Has one plastic lid to hold it from rolling side to side.

The problem with that setup is my driving. I would totally lay the tire down from the first light.

Just drill a hole and put the spare tire hook in at that point. Just remember to not fill the gas tank past 1/2 way86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Swung by Tom's (BlackVic_P71) place yesterday and picked up a power steering pump/alternator bracket.
Caught him working on his Vic. New headers with locking nuts....
Anyways, today I cleaned up the bracket and painted her up for my engine build:

And cleared:
Now I am off to DC for a week...Boo. I wanna start pulling apart my car.~David~

I would certainly make everything look more homey. I would definitely enjoy that look as well.
If i get irritated enough with the failing felt on the edges (and it is coming close to that) I will be removing all the felt and wet-sanding the covers, buffing them as well as sanding down the edges to make the things fit with less hassle.
If the lack of clarity still disturbs me I would definitely carpet them.~David~

I have some 3/16 plate aluminum or very light stainless that would make perfect doors for that (especially if someone could laser/waterjet the panels out of it). I got the stuff (being thrown out by work) to possibly deck the trunk over the spare tire in the 88. My thinking is possibly tack a piano hinch to the wall by the fuel tank and make a panel that lifts up that's the width of the sunk in part of the trunk and then make inserts for the side drop off from that level to the side shelves and bookend it all that way. Basically a trunk in a trunk so to speak. I do want to keep the sides separate from the "lid" but I may just leave it as completely removable (no hinge, just drop in) and make the bookends come up above it to keep it centered. Not real sure how all of that will work just yet, but it's ideas floating in my head and this trunk organizer stuff makes me want to do it all the more. I'll probably end up cutting the stuff with a metal break that a buddy has (at least for the center section) and then just shape the bookends to fit. Probably looking at spring... ish for that.

Got home from the DC tree lighting and dad said "lets get to work."
We removed the o2 sensors, h pipe, starter, torque converter inspection plate, torque converter nuts, as well as all transmission bolts to the engine block.
Tear-down has begun!~David~
