Hell I did all my plugs without removing anything, just takes the right extensions and shit. Anyhow Dog, if you car is grumbling when shifting into OD then your transmission may be doomed. Either way i'd recommend getting the brass TV bushing on there but it may be too late to save that. If you need one I bought a 4-pack. PM me your address and i'll send you one. Finish off your tune-up anyway and see if it makes a difference, run some injector cleaner through the car, seafoam, b-12 chemtool or whatever your snake-oil of choice is. Trans may just need to be serviced too. I had EVERYTHING changed when I got my '90 because I figured who knows when the last time any of it was touched.
I appreciate that. PM sent. The tune up helped the shifting. If you drive the car in D, I cannot make it do the sound I was describing. I was able to make it do the sound in OD drive but I had to really get on it My neighbor was riding with me when and he described it as an air-sucking sound. You have to punch it, it will downshift and as it shift's into the higher gear it makes the noise.
Pass. side plugs are hard to get to but not impossible, it's all that smog pump stuff in the way.
The thing to do is pull all that junk out, plug whatever lines you have you plug, junk the air pump, get a smaller belt and get rid of that crap.
Then pass. side plugs are easy.
I power washed the engine bay and wiped down a bunch of shit over the weekend. I was able to inspect everything and it looks pretty much untouched. Like it was straight from the factory. For now I'm going to keep it that way at least until I figure some some more stuff out about it.
Welcome I have been on this forum for a month or so and feel like family.lots of great people on here I have always been a panther fan I won't buy anything else.I tell people I wouldn't trade my box for 100 Honda civics and I stand by it. I think you will fall in love with your panther,u heard of fairlane fever ? I think all of us on here share a contagious virus called pather fever lol,and as for selling it don't do it you will regret it,I wish I had a whole driveway full of them, and it has been my experience that most people do not appreciate the fact that clean boxes are getting harder and harder to find especially my 90 as alot of body parts are 2year specific.I've had a lot of people criticize me for being so protective of my"piece of shit cv"grrr set your beer down on my hood one more time and ill show u what I think of that attitude, lol.I do get a lot more respect once I pop my hood.fun cars easy to modify as far as I'm concerned the sky's the limit.anywas welcome hope u stick around, lots of good info here.
Been on here a year and haven't done a build thread, lol. Guess i'll get to takin' some pics once she comes out of surgery. Yeah '90 and '91 are kinda oddball years but do have their advantages. I did it purely by accident but am glad for it after the fact.
Welcome, and welcome again. I've been away for awhile, so it's nice to see new Panther Converts when I came back.
That GM is a time capsule. I'd do some minor performance upgrades, but leave the body alone. it's getting rare to see a nice, unmolested box panther anymore. I use to have a tan 91 GM but now I'm rocking a 91 CVPI.
P.S., Let me know if you get over to Houston, we'll grab a taco.

It's a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing milk bone underwear.
Thanks watchdog. It's a clean car! Other than wheels and tires, I'm going to keep it stock looks wise. I'll hit you up when I head over to Galveston. Do you have more pics of your car?
