A good stereo is easier to install than a quiet motor. Turn it up and you won't hear that stupid bearing noise.

also an option. Sawzalls are even easier to operate than a stereo.

for shits and giggles tomorrow i am going to test the oil pressure and then change the oil with some lucas and test it again. testing oil pressure is part of a project at school and the shitmobile is due for an oil change.

i kinda wanna verify that it's worth repairing before i start repairing it (needs lifters but i wanna know how tired it is)

Mine likes thinner oil; with anything more than 10w30, it's noisy except when it is fully warmed up (30+ minutes of driving.) This is on a car with very good oil pressure, and I'm pretty sure I have a damaged lifter that isn't pumping up properly.

                    lucas stuff

I've never used Lucas products, then again I don't put anything in the crankcase but Valvoline.

Back in the dark days of owning mopar 318's, I would put Restore in them, Restore seemed to get back a little compression and cut down on oil burning.

then again, what the hell do I know

I've used Restore in a few cars over the years. I've stopped the mosquito truck effect on one Toyota, regained compression on numerous vehicles (might should try that again in the 88... hmm...) But you should always use non-detergent oils when using Restore, that way it'll actually work. Once it's in there good, you can go back to using whatever oil you like. But I've only use the stuff on engines that are really worn out (or smoking).

Cleans out the engine somewhat BEFORE an oil change. Some folks may leave it in but I wouldn't.

I've used it in an old corolla that was smoking pretty bad. worked like a charm after about 1000 miles. stopped smoking. used it once in my 88 and it didn't seem to do much at all. What it does is fill up little scratches in the cylinder walls to reduce oil burning and improve compression. if the cylinder walls are fine... it won't do anything for ya.

Used Lucas fuel additive in the gas tank. It was the best thing that happened in the history of my GM.

IT CAUSED A ROD KNOCK a couple of weeks later!
Took that LOPO out and put a HO in.

                                THANK YOU LUCAS OIL!

I will never use your product or like products again.

Any comments on Risolene or Marvel Mystery oil?
Used them 25-30 years ago without issues.
I still use RESTORE on occasion in the 2003 Grand Caravan and in the 91 GM. I also use Slick 50 or Duralube every now and then in both vehicles.

Any comments on what weight oil to use in a 22 yearold car?
