My 2009 CVPI has carpet, but no center console. If I want to mount something directly under the dash where the hump changes from rounded to square, do I have to worry too much about what's underneath? I haven't done too much exploring on the car, yet (waiting for better weather). What kind of clearance is there if I want to bolt something to that flat surface?

I would get under the car or better yet, if you have access to a lift, take a GOOD look before drilling anything.

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely be careful when the time comes. I've been wanting to go out and check, but I guess I'd rather stay inside a warm house and dream of warm Spring days when I plan to do all kinds of cool things to the Crown Vic. How much longer until Spring?Comment
