The way I do it...take out the screws holding the dash trim around the speedo area. Pull out the headlight knob and un screw the autolight adjuster part. Put the e-brake on, turn the key, pull the shifter down. Pull out the dash trim and bring it up and over toward the driver door...this will reveal 2 screws holding the headlight switch in...get those out and keep moving the trim panel until you can get the other 2 out. Headlight switch comes out, push the button to release the knob and viola.

Now, the right way is to sneek your hand up behind there and push the lil button to release the knob. Then you don't have to manuever the dash trim around. I never could get my big hands in there tho. Crown Vics are different tho, ya kinda have too.

I'm not sure if the plugs are different or not. Get yours out and go to the store and compare them.

well Im preety sure its the headlight switch thats no good. One day driving home. I had highbeams on those flickered for a bit than stopped working. Next day i didnt even have low beams. all other lights work, parking light's, taillight's.
But no headlights all the lights will go on if i hold the high beam but once i let go its all dead again

yeah mine was the same way just the parking lights would work the way I did it was potting my hand up through the dash grandmarq's are a lot eaiser then vic's the way I did it was take the bottom kick panel out. you have to get your hand in their feel your way around. you have to push that little button to make the shaft go out. then take the max delay knob out. then un screw the switch from the dash the take the connectors out. then there you go. I got my headlight switch from the junk yard for 5.00 it still works good too lol

I bet you'll find a crispy plug on there. Also, take the column cover off and check the plug to the MF switch (turn signal, high beam).
