    1994 Crown Victoria LX

I got this car on May 1st of this year...the used car dealer wanted $4000 for it, but he traded me even for my 1997 Taurus LX with 170,000 miles that I had since new. Said he could sell a Taurus a lot easier than a CV. He just pulled the Taurus into the space where the Vic was, and put "$4000/One Owner" on the windshield. It was sold in 2 days!

The CV had 103,000 miles on it when I got it...it now has 108,500 miles. I think it had the original Michelins on it, for all 4 tires had very little tread left. I replaced those with Goodyear Assurance TripleTreds...what a world of difference!

Aroung the end of July I started getting the dreaded torque converter shudder when the car was shifting from 3rd to 4th, and soon there after lost reverse, so the transmission was rebuilt. Has nice, crisp shifts now! Aside from the battery, fluids, filters and plugs, everything else on the car is factory original.

The only mod I plan to do is put dual exhaust on it.

Thanks for the welcomes and the nice words.

I'm one of those people who is very anal about their cars..I don't let anyone touch the paint or the glass, no eating in the car, can drink only water, and gods help you if you slam the door!! The Vic does not come out of the garage if it is raining. This car is totally rust free, and I hope to keep it that way. My Taurus, the last 10 years I had it, was never used in the rain or snow. (I lived in MD until 2 years ago..they get a little snow there once in a while...)

I forgot to mention that I did have the windshield replaced when I got the CV..lot's of knicks and acid rain marks all over it...here in S.C., one does not have to pay anything to have the windshield replaced...no deductible, nothin'.

There also isn't any inspections, either mechanical or emissions. Not even when you first purchase a vehicle.

You should see some of the pieces of crap on the road here.......

If nothing else, they sold you a clean car. Unless you cleaned the hell out of that car after purchasing it. In any event, noice!!!

The car was obviously taken care of by the previous 2 owners..It'll be 19 years old in January, and that's the original paint. There are some scratches from where previous owners have put things on the trunk (a BIG no no) The windows (except the new windshield) all have acid rain marks on them. Everything I've tried, from using 000 steel wool and ammonia and whatever else I could thing of has not helped. The engine bay was very clean. I just had to detail it a little bit to make it extra nice, and I spent about a week polishing and waxing all painted surfaces from the outside to the door jambs to the inside of the trunk lid and hood. The car has never seen the snow or been driven on salted roads, even though it is originally from the Ashville, NC area, where they do get snow. As I've mentioned, there is absolutely no rust anywhere.

The only exterior piece that needs to be replaced is the plasti-chrome insert in the rear bumper..as you can see, the ''chrome'' has worn off.

I moved to Gaithersburg in 1977 (from Maine), moved to Silver Spring in 1982, and then to Clarksburg in 1992 until I moved to S.C. in 2010.

Actually, the part of Clarksburg I lived in was just over the line in Frederick county. The street my house was on was the county dividing line.

My wife used to teach at Baker Middle School in Damascus, so I know where you're at!!
