yeah - a stock engine wont really benfit much, but a built motor will need one over the stock since it will be using much more air.

Are you talking about this type:

if that's what you're talking about i want to get one because they look cool and clean up the engine bay, but do they get dirtier a lot faster? Where's a good place to get one and what is a good one to get?

The choke stove on the CFI unit gets in the way, I think.

You could if you ran a 1/2 spacer under the aircleaner...

If you want more airflow and don't want to spend more money, just flip the air cleaner lid, and install a longer stud if needed. It also becomes a really handy parts tray.

So there is some sort of spacer that can be added to make it work? Would there be any clearance issues with the hood?

you can get a 1/2" or 1" spacer for under the air cleaner that would make it work, yes...

I run a 1/2" spacer on the aircleaner on my 4bbl, just cause..

The one that I run was used on my old CFI engine. It was a 2in air cleaner with a drop base. I had to cut the stud shorter to work on the cfi tho
