    suggestions on lower intake sealing

hey mangs I'm about to re-install my lower intake and I just wanted to know what you guys do like where do you use RTV and what procedure makes the seal last the longest. The first time I put it on without enough of a bead of rtv and I could see light inbetween the block and the intake :cuss: :cuss:

clean the two surfaces with brake cleaner. then put a big bead of RTV there arund 1/4" bead. make sure to run it up onto the intake gaskets.

Some intake sets come with a rubber "C" channel shaped gasket that sits over the ends of the engine block. Those work fine, but do NOT use the cork ones that some sets come with. They're absolutely wortless POS things that pretty much always leak. The RTV bead works well but I like to apply it and let it sit for 10-15 minutes to stiffen up a little before putting the intake down. Try and set the intake straight down too.
