Nope, but you got me thinking of dual alternators -> 260A will beat your 200A right away

I paid $150 for it on eBay. O'Reilly read 197 amps when the chick tested it after install.

Thought about calling the guy and asking if I could send it back because it wasn't a full 200.

The newer P71s come stock with 200A alternators.

Also if you want a really high output alternator go to Ohio generator

Love them dual alternator brackets But I'm gonna make mine even better, gonna use a T-bird bracket so I have one 130A alternator on each side of the engine - now that's gonna be sweet, don't you think? I even found me the alternator (small-case ones are really hard to find in my junkyard), I only need to go next weekend and pull it off.

Nope, your eyes are just fine - there are two sizes of 3G alternators. The larger one can be mostlu found on 3.0 V6-equipped cars, while the small-case seems to be more common for the 3.8 V6. However my alternator came from a '91 3.0 Taurus and I've seen '94 3.8 Tauruses with both type - go figure :drug: You'll know when you see a small-case alternator as it's exactly the same size as your 65A unit, the large-case one has mounting tabs that are about 1" longer than what you need (nothing a Dremel with the right toolbit cannot fix in like 5 minutes).

Just another pic of the wiring, if someone's interested in upgrading to the 3G alternator soon:

Lol, yeah, my Townie is like a PI - faster than it looks, handles much better than it looks, and has some unexpected goodies here and there The braces I added myself, figured if they're good enough for a CVPI, they're good enough for me too. Same with the pushbar, comes really handy when I park on the side of the street and some idiots close me in - I usually have no problems moving the one in front of me just enough so I can get out, no damage on their bumper either

I have a fan off of a 96 P71, that along with the single core Griffin aluminum radiator, and cast iron waterpump keep my Windsoe a dead solid 190 F. When i get on it it will climb to a little over 200 once i let off the temp drops right back down. This is with straight tap water and a bottle of Red Line Water Wetter. I need to throw some antifreeze in it pretty soon for the 3 days of the year where the temp actually drops to below 32 for a few hours.
