1991 CV at boneyard (and more)

    Hey guys,
found a very nice old lady owned 1991 Ford Crown Vic at boneyard. Same color as my Grand Marquis (Grey/Grey). What are some must-have parts I ought to be getting off of it? someone has got the headlight bezels and I think the grill. Someone also got the surround clip panel for the instrument gauges. But the gauge console was still there (hanging by some white plastic wire). I do need gears for my odometer and trip ticker, but those are probably bad too.

    Anything else?

There's also an 89 Lincoln too. Wish they had the 1990 TC - i still need the radiator overflow tank/fan shroud just for that year.

Brass bushing from the transmission (it's up by the throttle body/intake on driver side) could be a good part to pocket, pass on it if it's plastic, also if it's an LX it may have those big foamy triangle headrests, the posts fit the seats in 80-94+ and are much better than the tiny pill-shaped ones because you can tilt them 90-degrees forward and actually, y'know, rest your head against them. You'd have to remove the back of the front seat cloth or cut in (destroying it to figure out how to pull them out of the posts). If they are good shape leather AND big foamy triangles in leather, pull entire seats. Good shape spare full size tire covers are nice to have, and the J-hook/spare hold down & bracket, sometimes people can use those.

I could possibly use a good shape/intact wiring harness from the computer plug (not including the computer that lives between the Ebrake and regular brake pedal) to all the injector bits and oxygen sensors and everywhere the Engine control wiring harness goes. I'd have to repin some stuff to make it work on my Mass Air HO Mustang motor in the '91, but it's been something I've been too lazy to find and can't easily get around here. Ask the yard how much before you pull it if you're willing, if it's more than around $40 + 10-15 for your trouble/shipping don't bother. It would let me finally get rid of my Check Engine light. Oh, I think that might include the diagnostic plug and wires too in the same bundle, it'd be nice to have that working on my motor. PM me or whatever, whenever.

OH! the heater/a/c control head, if the sliders work, you may be able to sell it, I bought one and they half broke when I put it in (so I pulled the plastic grabber off and hooked a keyring to the metal arm. It's usually the COLD--------------------HOT slider that breaks. One guy on here put in a Digital Electronic Automatic Temp Control, but it needs to be an autoTEMP optioned car to do that, so that's neither here nor there.

Also the dome light with the map lights, the plastic is almost certain to be yellow but if the chrome unit is not pitted, yank that sucker. Of course this is all predicated on the yard pricing being reasonable. I'm not interested in all the parts listed, but they're some of the ones that sell or will definitely be needed.

OH! Front license plate holder, the plastic unit mounted into the bumper and the rubber bumper horns if present and if you're able to remove without damaging, people rip those off on telephone/utility poles all the time in ice storms, ask me how I know.

Front door speaker pods are nice to have in case you sometimes kick them on the way in/out of the car like I do. If you want to get really into the weeds, pull all the fusible links from the headlight and other wiring (but not that harness I want!) to keep around for spares, they can come in handy when doing the relay mod for your headlights and such. Headlight switch might be worth grabbing unfortunately no way of knowing if it's good or not, but the plug for that gets crispy/starts fires because all light voltage is run through it, which is why we do relay mods to take the pressure off it and turn the headlight switch into just a dumb on/off switch like it should have been when it was engineered.

How are the sun visors? I could use both if they are grey. One grey drivers side door pull too.

The wood and silver looking two piece dash trim that goes across. If it is PERFECT I would like it. Be careful removing it. It just pops off, but do it gently. If is has one or no cut out for the rear defogger switch, that is fine.

Just to be perfectly clear on that wiring harness I just need the full harness and plugs/connectors, not injectors or oxygen sensors themselves. No biggie if you can't/don't feel like going to the trouble.
