Correct IAC For '87 Merc GM?

Confused as to which OEM is correct for a NON - California '87 GM. Is it CX-1823 or 24??? I got FOAE-9F715-B1A, from Amazon and not sure if it is right. Box "says" it is CX-1824. This one has the connector at a 90 degree angle and the original has a straight connector. Just want to make sure....Bobby

The 90* connector is the one Mustangs use, factory should be straight.

I have used 5 different IAC's all with no difference in performance. I've used a original 87 Town Car OEM, a replacement that appears to be a parts store rebuilt Ford OEM, a SN95, an Explorer and a Mustang . BTW for anyone reading this for IAC info, the connector plug for the 87 Town Car IAC will not fit in a SN95 or Explorer IAC connector, but a SN95/Explorer connector will fit in the 87 Town Car Style connector.

They certainly look alike except for the angle of the connectors. Wonder if they are metered alike??

I have used both the straight and angled plug iac and not noticed a difference between them. I even used the one from my 86 Aerostar 3.0l v6 and it worked too.

It works, you just have to plug it in before bolting it up if you have the angled connector. Its pretty near impossible to plug it in otherwise. The IACs are all basically identical other than which direction the plug aims.

NOW I feel better!! Hated to have to return it for no reason. I have it as a spare as "one never knows, does one"!!

Close enough, computer controls the metering. If its idling too low, computer tells the iac to "open up" more, and vice versa.
