    O2 sensor removal....

    OK, I've read some good posts on how bad a location the O2 sensors are. I remember my 83 was a PITA too. Where are the plugs for each? I cannot find them.

    grab the wire at the sensor and trace it... you'll find the plug within about 10 inches.

      yup!
      They're hard to get undone; you have to feel for them and do it one-handed, as they're right on top of the bellhousing.

        That's what I was sorta thinking. I felt down there and didn't go far enough! I just replaced both O2's on my daughter's 98 Burb this weekend. 15 minute job. What the hell was Ford thinking!?!?!?

          took me about 30 minutes to replace them on my 88. the right tools help.

          2 impact u-joints... extensions... breaker bar... good sensor socket.

          took about an hour on the 93 due to the piss poor angle on the passenger side and the fact that the air ducts from the heater are less than an inch from the damn thing.
