    ok heres one for you

ok im a decent panther tech, but im not too sure what to make of this one. I got a messge on one of the boards im a member of,actually citruspeed is from that board too lol anyway heres the questions i got

I need some ideas in order to fix my problem. I have a 1988 Lincoln LSC 5.0 HO engine. I have installed it into an early Ford Bronco. The problem that I have is that it pops through the intake under acceleration for about the 1st quarter mile. Then you feel a surge of power and the popping stops and the engine runs amazing. When you come to a stop and idle for a while when accelerating again the popping may return but not always. Once again in about a quarter mile it is gone. Please help! 1-888-269-3969

What is he using, the efi stuff or a carb?

It almost sounds like a carb loading up on fuel or a timing issue.

i had the same problem with my 67 four door. it was the timing/wires on the wrong plugs.
i fixed it when i wised up, rearranged the sparkplug wires and timed it correctly all in a city wide blackout.

Without specifics on exactly what he's using, it could be a lot of things. I could rattle off EFI crap but that won't help if he's running a carb. It could be as simple as a crossed or defective plug wire.
