    engine gunk

ever since i got the car when i open my oil fill cap on my engine i get this weird creme colored gunk, its the consistency of shaving gel. I have changed my oil a week a go and and the oil was black with no water in it. I don't drive very far on most days but i do let it warm up.

it is a '85 crown Victoria with a 302 and cif

you might let it warm up and stuff... but car needs driven to reach real temp to not have that crap under there... you might wanna change out PCV and the screen under PCV along with the rubber the PCV sits in. all it is is moisture in system that doesnt get out from not being driven enough to burn out the moisture.

+1 - I get that in my cars because I do a lot of short trips, and those are almost never long enough to really let the oil hot enough to boil off condensation and blowby impurities.

Drive it 20-30 minutes highway at least once a week. Mine always burns off with that type of trip. Pretty normal stuff for short trip service, even if you let it warm up beforehand. And check your PCV system just to make sure it's functioning correctly.

Yeah I'd say that's what it is. As long as it doesn't overheat or anything, it's just condensation. Wouldn't hurt to drive it more often.

I've had that same problem on my 86 for awhile long time despite reg oil changes and longer runs. The black plastic line from the throttle body to the filler neck on mine was pretty clogged with that gunk and I cleaned it out about a 2 weeks ago and the condensation and milky residue went away. However since your CFI, I'm not entirely sure of the setup but I think they have that line or something similar as well. If it does, just be careful if you decide to clean it, mine cracked and I had to put a small hose patch until I find another good one in the junkyard.
