ok, ive decided that im tired of the single exaust on my car. i replaced the old stock muffler with a turbo thrush, which is ok to my liking, but ive always wanted duals.i was researching the threads on exaust and couldnt really get my questions answered, so sorry if it's already been asked. so, could i just buy the H-pipe and left tailpipe from like oreily or autozone?i want to keep it stock. Is it just a bolt off the y-pipe, bolt up the h-pipe and left tail, put a muffler on and done? i know i need clamps too. i just need more info on doing it since i dont want to pay discout muffler like 300 dollars to do something that seems so cheap and pluy and play.I was looking at autozone's site and they have a amaremount H-pipe for $72.99 and the left pipe for $38.99.are those good deals?

You can do exactly that, I did with my wagon. Just unbolt the Y-Pipe (the one that actually looks like a Y, not the one's coming off the manifolds) after the cats, bolt on the new H-Pipe, muffler, and left tailpipe. Have access to a torch? You'll probably need one to do a little heating and bending on the pipes, and to help get the old muffler off the Y-Pipe if it's been clamped down hard.1990 Country Squire - under restoration

i should get a torch lol.so it's just basically bolt off the y, bolt up the h and the new stuff eh? I probably need to let the rear end hang so i can get the tailpipe in that space like the right pipe right?Last edited by Jonsey; 10-16-2008, 02:34 PM.sigpic-The Crown(Kodiak)1989,150K Miles,5.0LOpo,autolamps,slicktop,power windows and locks, yet still not good enough to be LX:confused:
