    Fuel Filter for EFI

    I want to change the fuel filter in my ma's CV tomorrow, but I am unsure how the hairpin clips (retainers) come off. They look like you can just get a set of pliers and separate the prongs of the clip and push them off. Is this the way to do it or do I need a special tool for this?

    dont pull them apart, just squeese them alittle and pull them out by the flat end, a flat screwdriver helps.
    The new filter should come with new clips, so dont be scared to break them.

      if they give me too much shit, I use diagonal cutters to cut the flat head off and pull the "legs" out.

        yea a screwdriver does the trick.....and yes the new filters come with new clips, just be careful not to nick the o-rings on the plastic lines when changing the filter.....pull the fittings strait off

          Thanks guys/gals. I got it changed in no time. I even saved the old clips just in case the next filter doesn't come with them.
