OF ALL THE...ACH!...chokin on my rage here!

    I dont frickin believe this!
for those in MI last night, you make have noticed how it was raining pretty hard last night...so, naturally, you'd use your windshield wipers...not me!
I drove not even 1 mile down the road and my wipers quit.
not at the bottom or top of the windshield, no, that'd be too convenient!
they stopped dead right in the middle of the frickin windshield!
I had to drive on I-75, at night, in the rain, going home with the wipers right in the middle of my frickin' windshield!
luckily, I have a spare wiper motor..so, for the time being, I can swap it in and be ok.

RELAX !!!, its just a wiper motor. they all fail eventually.

replace the wiper motor and all will be good again.

I used to drive specifically without my wipers to train myself to see in case that happened. Hell, Id almost rather have that happen than them working, with only the pass side being wiped clear and the drivers smearing, that works me into a fit of rage like none other.

is it pretty much just unbolt the 3 bolts, pull, replace and bolt up?
is there any special way it needs to go in or anything?

the connection to the wiper linkages would be the only tricky part... I havent done one yet.

The clip can be a bit of a pain in the ass to get out, Clean the garbage out of the area where the linkage hooks to the motor, and use a small screwdriver to pop the clip loose. Don't lose the clip. Once the motor is out, put the clip on the wiper linkage itself, it should just sit on there. Install the new motor and push the linkage onto the motor. It should clip and hold. If the clip falls apart (which might have happened, could be your motor is fine) you'll need to come up with some alternative to hold the linkage together. A jesus clip and a washer will probably do it, or one of those circlip things but that will be a pain removing down the road. Might be able to get that clip from Ford still.

Advance Auto Parts in my area has that wiper motor for $66, with a core value of $20.
Do you guys know of anywhere else that has them a lot cheaper?

Is your motor verified bad? No makum noise when the wipers are turned on, and your fuse is not burned out?

nope...the title fo that thread would be something like:
                              "Oh no! It finally happened!"
                              or
                              "MAGNA has been seriously injured!"
depending on the damage, I'd prolly just repair it. it would give me an excuse to go slicktop and paint it black
but I hope MAGNA never gets hit that bad!
