Yeah... I'm not that good. If I have the font on my computer or a place to download it from I can do the text, but I'm not good at blending images like that at all.

Guess you could "right click" it and choose "inspect" to view the HTML. That would at least tell what exactly they used. From that point, things might get interesting.

Don't even need to do that. It's 3 images. The images with the text. Next, the background blue tint image and then the end image with a transparent section on the left to show the background image behind it. The background image is allowed to repeat across as needed. Nothing special about the way the images are overlapped, but creating said images is what I suck at. Like I said, I can do text. That's what I have experience with. I can do text over clip-art/pictures, but I'm not good at making stylized pictures like that.

And... because I can't leave well enough alone... here's another couple of options...

Like either one as opposed to the current one. Guess we can always experiment with something more exotic later on.

Growing up through the 70's and 80's the current computer woody font looks better than the above wood font, not fond of this fonts proportions.
The script font isn't too bad, it is reminiscent of old car emblems and seems rather fitting for a Grand Marquis.

I could try whipping up a similar banner to that of CVN if anyone was interested. Obviously I'd want some cars from here to use in it. Is that something that needs to be a set proportion or would it resize accordingly to the device resolution?

Only thing that probably wouldn't be present would be the rotating image in the upper right unless that was something that could be configured.

Here's a rough cut concept CVN-ish style banner. Cars were just randomly selected from Reader's Rides and the GrandMarq.Net logo from above.

Me likey. I wonder what a mild sepia would look like instead of the blue.

I'd say use that in place of the old POTM logo and the script in the top left?

I've not seen a way to put something like that at the top like CVN. The VB5 header seems to be reserved for the Ad system that we currently have disabled.

Different color scheme, perhaps, but overall I like the concept.

Better to ask for forgiveness than seek permission in many cases. I'm saying use the Motor Company logo and if they ever send the C&D letter then...change it.
Hell, at that point let them have an adspace for free and use it.

Keep the car on the left (or just replace it with GMN logo), and sepia where the blue haze is now?

Changes/removal to the color box on the left can be done too, this is all just playing around with designs.
