{Transmission} AOD high speed govenor how to

ok many of us have modified 302 ho's in our cars.....much need for a higher shift point. installing a high speed govenor from a mustang is reall easy.....heres how. sorry no pictures yet, my camera is broke
    1 remove driveshaft (4 bolts, they are a 12mm 12 point)
    2 remove speedo cable/speed sensor (11mm wrench)
3 put a jack under the pan and unbolt the trans mount (4 11/16 bolts)
4 remove the 6 tailshaft bolts (13mm socket)
5 carefully remove the tailshaft......you may need a new gasket if it tore
6 remove old govenor (2 bolts with phillips heads)
7 install mustang high speed govenor
8 reinstall, add 1/2 qt tranny fluid and check for leaks
    9 enjoy!
the govenor cost me $11 from the ford dealer

would installing that governor serve any purpose on a non-HO Vic? mine eventually will be HO but not at the current moment.

Not really, since the stock cam makes power to 4200 RPM. Once you do a HO conversion, then you want the higher shift speeds, because the HO cam makes power up 4800 rpm.

A shift kit and a "A" O/D servo would greatly help the stock trans.

Is it just me, or would it be a good idea to put like a board of wood between the jack and the pan? I didn't think the pan was really made to hold the weight of the transmission.. .I"d think it would collapse in the middle.
