I'd like to have a Porsche engine for my Beetle. The front end of the family truckster makes me laugh every time I see it. I told my dad that the only thing it HAS to have is a modified engine. You have to be able to smoke the people that laugh at you.

nah, not enough. if you're going to drive something that ugly, it needs a hell of a lot more than an HO. my vote is a supercharged 351.

I was thinking more along the lines of a 428 Cobra Jet out of a '68 Shelby GT500KR?

It already has one. Who do you think designed it.? Just bore it, stroke it, cam it, and carb the hell out of it, and then have fun with the porsches, camaros and mustangs at 1/4 the cost. Been there, done that, have the t-shirt.

Checking out MrLTD's link, damn this car is sweet.

When I went to the Carlisle All Ford Nats. in 2006, there was a white full size Ford/ Mercury wagon right near the back gate. I'd say a '66, or '67, with the wood on the sides (CP/CS). Oh, that cars was a beauty. It had kidney bean wheels on it (polished), and the wood, albeit fake, was absolutely stunning.

                        Thats a neat forum MrLTD...
