4 dogs and me got to west Texas, 1543 miles, 27 hours (2 naps). The Boulevard Cruiser ran well through severe rain storms and Dallas rush hour. Burned three quarts of oil which is worrisome. The heater still isn't right and the instument panle likght went out but otherwise it's running fine.
US 10 has an 80 mph speed limit so I set the cruise control at 82 and thought about what has been most important for that kind of driving. Scotts mods: steering, suspension, big brakes - and replacing all the old stuff that might have left me beside the road. It was good to have an oil and temp gauge and itunes playing through the speakers. It's a funny feeling seeing "Ft Stockton 79 Miles" knowing I'll be there in less than an hour.
