After taking a good look at the emptly lenses while at Scottfest, I decided it must be done!!!!

Who wants to be the 1st ginea pig???

I plan to get those pieces from this towncar in the junkyard here, dremel a hole to fit a 194 socket, and put in one of the side emitting LED replacement bulbs I have been using.

For the 1st person to volenteer, I'll send them out to you, as long as you promise to install them ASAP and take pics. If you like em, send me $10 to cover the bulbs and shipping, also send back your empty lenses as 'cores' so I can make another set. Or if you have spares, send em this way.

yes, those empty lenses must be filled with light! Ford must have planned to illuminated them at some point, otherwise there wouldn't have been reflective film on the inside.

I might have to look at doing that to mine as well. I plan on replacing the headlight bezels with nicer chrome units anyway, so it would be a good excuse to mod some stuff up.

ok I went to the yard today, and both bezels on the TC I had in mind were gone!!!!

So if anyone wants something like this, you got to send me some bezels or wait till I find some.

I already have the sockets and amber LED bulbs ready to go, but finding the bezels might take a while...

I forgot to look in our catalouge at work for aftermarket front end parts... they sell box fenders and front end parts for 88+ CV's and GM's... I'll look tomorrow and see what they have for towncars.

Ive bought a lot of headlamp asseblies and corner/marker light for cars at work, for WAY too cheap... for example a signal lens with mounting bracket, bulb, socket and wiring for like 14 bucks, and the quality looks good. Mostly Eagle Eye brand stuff.

well, no front bezel listing in that book... all they list are fenders, bumpers and header panel.

No idea. If I can get 2 sets, I'll take one set back. I want to replace mine anyway, and I was planning on probably doing something similar with lighting. The chrome on mine is in shit condition, has black overspray on it, and the reflective area behind that lens is in poor shape. The only possibly different thing I was gonna do was repaint the Lincoln emblem in the middle so it stands out more with backlighting. Not sure if it'll stay silver or go black though.

who would have thought the insides would be as shiney chrome as the bezel itself (after much cleaning and polishing). A little bit of corrosion in the corners but it should still make plenty of shine!

Scott is the lucky winner... he gets to model the 1st pair and make all u guys jelous!

All thats left now is the hard part... making cross holes with the dremel to fit the 194 sockets
