i got a digi speedo here Im fanticizing about doing some frankenstien action with a vic speedo

naw they wont fit in, not even close. You could trim some tabs here and there to make it sit in place but the cluster is way deeper than a vic' cluster, the dash trim would never fit back on.

The message center part of it would never work, it needs input from all the buttons in the Town car that work it. That would be a killer project though

I'm mainly wondering if i can get the fuel display to work, maybe remote mount it somewhere.
This would give more flexibility involving gutting the vic speedo to put gages in it :coocoo:

I plan to get a vic speedo to gut, and also try and fit only the speedometer part of the TC digi.
Ive already atken apart the TC digi speedo, and the speedo part of it comes out as a seperate unit. The flange that accepts the speedo cable looks the same as a vic's... so maybe, just maybe the digi unit will mate into the vic speedo shell
Then hopefully I could somehow trim away the center of the speedo face, and just a little of the dash face to make it not look like a total hack job...

since i have a little experience in doing a guage swap, ill add to this thread. but not about the digi guages. ill talk about going from the ghetto guages swapping to the 87+ guages.

you can only swap the speedo and this is why. it may help you it may not.

Damn shame the Canadian speedos have standard markings in such small numbers. I'd love a speedo that read up to 110 in my Townie, but I can't handle those itsy bitsy numbers.

I also have the old style square guage but its not all that bad. I want to replace my clock with a Townie tripminder but retain the analouge speedo if possible. Mostly I don't like the digital fuel guage at all, and I don't want to fiddle with my odometer to make a new cluster match my old one.

won't fit. the only boxes that can use aero clusters are the 90-91's. and that only applies to 92-94 aero's. 95 saw a dash redesign

are you saying that there is a 1992 grand marq with a digi speedo???
this means they should physically fit in 90-91 crown vics. and yes it should fit a 90-91 grand marq too.

won't work. i had considered that for shifty, and dextrovic and 2vmodular from other site said it would not work. not without redoing the whole dash wiring, almost like switching from basic climate control to the digi-fancy setup
