I have been looking into getting a replacement front seat motor for my 89 before they become unobtanium. I found the part number and plugged it into a few places. And I found something interesting.
This is the original part, number E5VF-14547-AA:

This is another motor that's much easier to find which was used in the Sable and some Taurus models, part number E8DF-14547-AA:

I dunno about you, but to me they look completely identical save for the length of the cable.
Now, from what I understand about Ford part number architecture, the first set of digits just indicates the date. The second set of digits indicates the part, and the third indicates the location and/or trim. So as far as I can tell, these are exactly the same part with a longer cable, which I can fix easily.
What do you guys think?
