Can those members with a box from 1980-1988 take a picture of the shift handle, I have to see if the one on my 1986 Tudor has ever been changed, as the new replacement looks nothing like what is on the car now?
As far as I know, the handle design did not change during the 80's. I wish I had a picture of mine, but the one on my '89 matched other junkyard cars ('83, '84, '86, and '88) They changed it in 1990 with the new interior design.

Scott,
The p/n of the part I received is:EOAZ-7210-B. What is weird is the fact that this p/n is called for all CV, MGM, and LTC for ten years! This arm is shorter and has way more mid bend to it! The handle on the car now rests very close to the plastic speedo face. The new arm is shorter and sticks out more toward the driver???One other thought...incorrect part in the correct box???
Now the Fox LTD/Marquis line was made from 1983 until 1986 and briefly sold alongside Taurus in 1986. With you having a 1986 Grand Marquis, do you think it is possible you got a 1986 Marquis shifter handle instead? The shifter you have looks like the type for the Fox line.
My Cars:
-1964 Comet 202 (116K Miles) - Long Term Project
-1979 Ford LTD Landau (38K Miles) - New Cruiser -1986 Dodge D-150 Royale SE (112K Miles) - Slowly Getting Put Back Together
-1987 Grand Marquis Colony Park LS (343K Miles) - April 2017 + September 2019 POTM Winner
-1997 Grand Marquis LS (244K Miles) - March 2015 + January 2019 POTM Winner - Sold (05/2011 - 07/2024)
Wolf what you say makes total sense, but the p/n claims to be for the big cars, CV, MGM, and LTC...........now maybe the wrong arm went into the correct box???
