Glove Box Door Not fitting Flush

I'm not sure how I can fix this problem. I installed a new glove box door lock for my 89 but it wont close shut all of the way. It does close but its just not flush. like theres a good half inch gap between the top part of the door to the dashboard. I really want to fix that so my interior looks good. Can anybody help out?

Maybe some photos of the area might be helpful?? Good close ups may provide a clue/s so someone here may spot the issue/s.
