    In dire need of help taking out the automatci climate control unit.

    I need to replace a lot of the major switches on my automatic climate control unit and I just want to take the whole thing out. so far I am 95% there. there is this pain in the a** lock washer than wont come off. heres what im mean its the washer on top of the spring that's out of focus. I really want to get this thing apart and I need some advice on what to do next Click image for larger version

      poke a pick in there from the bottom side. It will bend the tabs up a bit that lock it onto the shaft and then it should let go.

        I used a panel clip puller to yank it off of mine when I was in there jacking with all that mess, but I also had the dash out cause I was replacing the heater core.

          I got it out now I just have to identify the names of the switches and replace them

            May I suggest that you just take the switches to the auto parts store. Part numbers will help better than names. Names can be confusing as what you think is a switch could be a multi position unit or some crazy thing.
