    Vinyl from carpet

So my 98 whale...carpet cannot be cleaned...or "unstained".
Anyone switch to Vinyl....got pics? Happy with it?

....I have changed carpet before(in a 04 GMQ) only to put rubber floor mats over the majority of the surface area.
....why not just make the whole floor a "floor mat"..thinking it my look slick too....

On an unrelated vehicle, I've got vinyl instead of carpet in my truck. It's pretty nice and easy to clean. The only thing I hate about it is the fact that my floor mat moved around too easily on the drivers side. So I put it on the passenger side. Another plus is if I had a big enough mess in there I could just hose it out. Oh, and road noise is a bit more noticeable.

I switched to the PI rubber floor covering long ago, I love it.

I like the vinyl flooring. as it looks good and cleans up well. When you install, it needs to be warm and flexible. The down side to vinyl is that it is slippery when wet, mats slip around and it does not absorb noise well. In my opinion I would get a real nice used one not a aftermarket, as it fits better.

you can install sound deadener to deal with the sound issue... I have some boxes left for sale... one box should cover the floor area even with doubling up over the trans hump.

A friend of mine with a 2010 or maybe a 2009 PI unit bought himself a carpet and we will be pulling out the ford floor covering. I think it really makes the car feel less luxurious but it is durable.

Where are you located? Should be the same size. If you are interested, let me know. It would probably go well with sound deadener like sly indicated.

I used a pressure washer to clean really nasty carpet before. I laid it in the driveway and dumped a bunch of carpet shampoo on it, then used a scrub brush on a stick to work it in. It soaked for about a half hour, then I hung it on the fence and blasted it until the water stopped coming out brown. It wasn't totally perfect when I was done, but it was vastly better than when it started.
