Allow me to clarify the pad, I am looking for a dashpad.

Looking in a junkyard is hopeless,

      Does JCWhitney make one?

Jc Whitney May still sell the coverlay. Installed properly you can hardly tell it's an overlay.

I just helped someone else here regarding info on a dash cap. Coverlay is one company. Look at their site for details. JC Whitney sells them cheaper that the coverlay site. JC Whitney has some discounts available, Coupon code : SVNGSAFF8 OR PC4UAFF8 Both give you 10 % off plus free shipping.

Do keep an eye open in the salvage yards, yes the chances are slim but wonders never cease. I found a like new dash for my 91 CV so it can happen.

Is the dashpad out of a Crown or a Marq from the same 80s era the same as used in a Town Car?

Vic and marquis dash pads will not work on a town car. I know from trying to fit a town car pad to my vic when I first got it. The side (ears?) are too short as dimensions are just all wrong. I guess worst case you could set it on there, but it won't bolt down or fit right at all.

Shame I don't still have the town car pad I tried using because it wasn't cracked at all.

AFAIK, Those are plastic covers that go over the existing cracked dash pad. It's not a full replacement pad.

I wouldn't put faith on finding one in your color, just hope to find one uncracked.

VHT Vinyl/Plastic paint will make it a dang near perfect match.
