    Shifter Knob

    the factory chrome shifter knob i have in my gm right now is not in the best of shape.. so i been looking to put a add on shifter knob. is there anyway to remove the chrome shifter knob on these 89s at all?

    grab with locking pliers and twist and pull off. They are press-on style and VERY tight. use a rubber mallet to put the new one on.

        Lay the new one on the dash, in the sun, for the day and install it while its still hot. Makes it a lot easier.
