    Annoying ass door buzzer.....

anyone know where that damn door buzzer is located in the box Mercs?... you know the one that obnoxiously goes "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH" instead of "ding" as long as the doors open...

i want to change that to maybe a flashing light or dinger instead of the buzz.

It should be located under the dash, near the ash tray. Its a small white box with a couple perferated holes. Cant miss it.

I removed the "ding ding ding" one and installed the buzzer one in my car. Call me crazy but the buzzer is 80's cool!

One of the reasons I replaced was because it was worn out. I could hardly hear it. I do still have it however if you are really interested.

one of the door switches in my car went bad and I got the DIng Ding Ding constantly while driving one night in the rain. I got where I was going, yanked the radio out of the dash and used that hole to yank the door dinger. It went in the trash probably 5 years ago and I haven't missed it for a second since. I did replace the door switch too.

When I was younger I used to like all of the switches but I have simplified everything now. Looks like this now:
