84 was very late in the 8 track game. It was a dead format by then. I didn't know they even offered one that late to be honest. The latest I've ever seen one was 1982 in a Towncar.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

The 8 track was dying fast around 1984. The door panels on the 2 door could have been leftovers from 1982 or someone changed them to the older version. Actually the older doorpanels look nice until the sun gets to them.

My '79 TC still has it's 8 track player. I have no 8 track tapes to play. The radio still works but the speakers are crap...'79 Continental Town Car

Had a cassette in my '87 GM. Previously I had an under dash 8 track in my '72 Dodge Charger (400 Magnum) and it sounded really good. The sound of 8 tracks was not bad at all for the limitations of the medium!
