    Less-sticky-outey Grant wheel adapters!

FINALLY, I found that Grant really does have 3-bolt to 5-bolt steering wheel adapters that don't stick the wheel right up against your chest! I started searching for these at least a couple years or so ago, but never found evidence of their existence until tonight! I've long since started trying to make my own flat wheel adapter, but these were neat to discover.

Nice, I might need one of those. Though, with my racing buckets, the normal adapter might work better.

I figure the 2" deep "normal" adapters work good for guys with long legs and/or who keep their seat leaning way back. And who can physically move their seats farther back than my arrangements allow.

BTW, neat pic of what must be the first adapter above, mounted to a Grant quick-release collar.

Yeah, with the stock seats my grant was too far back. That's why I put the stock wheel back in. That quick release would be fun as a theft deterrent. That little adapter was pricey though.

Yeah, $20-$30 for a bit of aluminum with holes in it, what gives? The other one was more like $5-6 at the Grant website, but it looks like it's a full inch thick. Still, even if my homemade adapter works fine I'd still be tempted to get that nice machined one just because it looks great. Don't know if it'll work with a normal wheel-mounted horn button, but the '81 doesn't have one anyway!

Biggest trouble with the quick release, is that it looks like the assembly is every bit as thick as the 2" spacer-adapter I already have.
