What LED Bulb do I need...

For this Dome Light. I usually go by the number on the bulb, but this one has nothing written on it. Since I buy these LED's straight from china, on ebay, I don't wanna accidentally order the wrong bulb. plz advise.

Im not for sure, but I 'think" one of these will work... its not the kind with the wire ends, but i swear I replaced one of those with one of this type (with the pointy metal ends) in a customers car because we didn't have the other. It should even have the dimples to hold the pointy ends. Some of these listings give good dimensions too.

Im continually amazed my how freaking cool LED bulb replacements are getting. I need to upgrade...



If nothing else, some box dome light centers use a wedge base bulb, I think its the ones in newer ones that do

I seen those on the bay, but noticed they didn't have the wire ends on them, so I wasn't sure if they would work. I'm gonna go for them now though for sure.

I have one of those dome lights with the wedge base bulbs in it too, came in my '87 LTD Vic, while the one pictured came in my '87 Mercury. I choose the Long Bulb one from the Merc because it seems to illuminate my interior a little better. If it doesn't work out, then I'll just switch to the wedge base bulb dome light from my LTD.

I have the LED bug myself now, hehe. I'm determined to switch every single bulb out for LED's.

You might want to buy a regular bulb like this from the store to try, just to be sure, lol.
I guess you could always drill holes in those tabs in the light if they aren't there already.
I swear i saw one on eBay that had the wire ends though...

I have one with wire loops on the end. I emailed the seller to make sure the measurements of the loops were correct. I had previously bought one from another seller and the loops were too small to fit over the two prongs it mounts on.


Those ones with the pointy ends will be held between the two prongs but it's not the right bulb and I don't know the difference in power ratings....I had one in there for a while and it got hot quick.

Nice!, thanks for the link mang. This dome lights contacts do have the little dimples in them to hold those pointy ended LED bulbs, but it doesn't look like it would be a very secure connection. So I would rather have the ones with the wire loops on the end, that way I know it is gonna stay in place after I install it. I measured my stock bulb to be sure, and that indeed is the correct one. I've ordered from warden_jp2002 before as well, so I know he's legit.
