    repairing leather?

I was working on my door panel and didn't have time to finish assembling it.
I realized belatedly --with the hint of smoke-- that hte door light bulb hanging out had come to rest against hte side of the seat, and it was smoldering! shit shit shit.

Now I have a nice little burn in my leather :-(

Luckily the leather is dark blue, so it isn't as bad as it could be.
But what are my options for patching it up?
Is there like a silicone paste that I pigment myself (I'm into painting and have plenty of raw pigments to color match), and smooth over the burn, which is inset below the surface of the rest of the leather?

    What products do you like?

    thanks!

You could try something like that. My mom is a professional upholsterer and leather craftsman and any time I had ever had something small happen to leather she always tells me it is better to either live with it or replace it. Do you have any pics? maybe you might be able to sand it a little and dye it and wax it but I might be able to give you better advise if I could see it.
