    seat belt retractor

I finally decided to go an explore behind the wall panel that hides the seat belt retractor - to attempt to rebuild it - since it doesn't..retract.

It's cover color is a vibrant blue. Actually on the retractor are two part numbers saying that "blue is for ford" and "grey is for lincoln".

Where can I get the (large torx-looking) tool to remove the seatbelt unit?
Any tips on removing the door-jam button as well?

Another cool finding what that there are small black bags stuffed with padding of some sort (sound proofing?). Looked like some "goods" were stashed. They were stuffed below the retractor.

Those black bags are normal. Possibly to reduce sounds OR absorb any moisture.

The torx bit you can get at any good auto parts store....should be a T50.

Door jamb button...take a small flat head screw driver and pop off the circular bezel. Then just twist the button to match up the shapes and pull out.

To get the entire unit out you will have to remove all of the torx's (3 in total) One holding the unit, one holding the seat belt behind the upper opera window panel and one down by the seats.
