I have a 140mph speedo out of an '87 Crown Vic and I'm wondering if it is a direct replacement for my 85mph speedo in my '79 LTD-S Coupe. I know there's probably an extra idiot light or something, but I don't care since it won't light up anyway. I just want to make sure the fuel gauge and speedo will work correctly...

All you should do is have both speedometers on the table. Take off the the clear faceplates from both units, unbolt the actual speedometer assembly from both units and put the 140 speedometer into the back shell of your original speedometer and close everything back up.~David~

my car starts and it has AC. Yours doesn't start and it has no AC. Seems obvious to me.
