undo the screws above the wood trim, there should be 1 screw either side of the dash pad itself (by the doors), and there should be 2 screws above each of the defroster vents the will also let it come out. Hope it helped!

When removing the screws within the defroster vents be very careful not to drop any of them. But otherwise it is super simple.

sounds like the older style dash is a fuck of a lot easier to take apart than mine!

Funny you mention it because in junkyards while hopping into the 90/91's i looked at the dash and said wtf....how does it come apart? lol

long skinny piece of dash trim pops off, unscrew the bezel...oh wait the switch for the lights/auto dimmer keeps the bezel from coming off all the way, unbolt the drivers knee bolster, reach up inside with something thin enough to press a tiny metal button to relase the light switch/knob, pull that out, take the bezel off...fuckin A/C hose is holding it on, pop that off..then there's some clear plastic piece over the whole of the instrument cluster, unscrew that..but you can't get at the top screws on that angle unless you take the whole unit out, 4 or 5 more screws for that..undo those top screws on a funky angle that you shouldn't have to be on, then put the whole cluster back in, screw it on, pop that clear plastic piece off..what? there's ANOTHER fucking piece of plastic in the way? unscrew that...UGH

Let's just leave it as the '90 dash doesn't come off. poo poo for '90 and '91. Air bags no good While you have the top off, it would be a great time to clean it, and put a protectant over it, if it is still in good shape.

Fuck, I was half way through taking mine apart today, then I thought, hey, I've only got 6 hours before sundown, I should start putting this shit back together.

I actually got started cause I was bored after finding out that I wouldn't be able to fix my wiper problem without getting a whole different unit in.
