    90/91 CV/GMQ Premium Sound Question

I am installing a set of front door angled speakers and the accompanying cover. I removed the cover in such a fury that i have no idea how it is secured to the door. I know for sure two screws are used at the bottom of the cover but my question deals with the top two push fastener looking doodads. Do they just fasten themselves to the door panel? Or the actual door?

Here is a picture of what i am talking about:

    Back of D.Side cover

You can see the fastener doodad thingies as well as the screw holes.

From the picture it seems it just penetrates the door panel, but i have not a clue.

    Any ideas?

The fastners should just snap right in..on the top. they fasten themselves to the door panel

Yes, yes. But into the door panel or the door?

They snap into a small rectangular hole in the metal part of the door.
One of the tabs on that driver's side one is broken, its not going to secure quite all the way to the door. Even if they are just a little weak they might be a little floppy.

yea i noticed that one was broken hopefully it will hold on tight enough to not be a nuisance to me. I wonder if the door is contoured a bit differently to accept this set up on the 90/91's because on my door there is not really a nice flush service where i can make little rectangular holes.

I still have that one grey one floating around here, if its a driver side and the tabs are good, you can have it.

I will take you up on that offer if mine doesnt fasten down tightly. Luckily i am the one that has to cut the rectangular holes in the door so i have ultimate control over how tight the cover will be.

Its gonna get painted the stock color btw
