Are you going to through a little tint on it to help that?? I think that whatever it came out of prolly had a factoy tinted rear window and that is why it is so bright. I'm serious about letting me know if you find another one. What vehicle did it come out of??

He said it came out of a Jimmy. On Jimmys they were outside just above the rear glass. So no tint.

Damn that sucker is bright! It almost makes you regular brake lights look orange-ish. Good job on that clean install!

well.... it only looks clean - Inside the trunk, I have a few wires strewn above the spare tire on the shelf. Everything is wired to a relay that is just zip tied to the upper deck with the wires in a bundle. For shame!

The only reason I let myself get away with this was becuase Im planning another trunk wiring overhaul, and was feeling just lazy enough

Also... the light isnt really attached to anthing. Its wires hold one end pretty well, and the remainder of the sticky stuff on the bottom of it keeps it from moving much.
When I set it there, I also realized how much my carpet dech had formed dips, forming the shape of the upper deck. I should have left the cardboard under that thing !!! :cuss:
Anyway, its sort of lop sided a little. And Im also entertaining the idea of mounting it to the headliner :banana:

hhmmm... just to update this one... I did after all clean up the wiring and fasten the light it securley to the deck, lol.
I also fixed how the carpet formed into the dips of the rear deck by putting a stock plain cardboard deck under the carpet.

i modified the one in the 97 to hold about 50 5mm red leds
