    Locked outta the drivers side...

This time I know it ain't frozen. Just started doing this to me a few days ago.

If my driver's side door is locked, the key won't turn and unlock it.

If it's unlocked, the key won't turn to lock it...

I don't know how, but I probably busted it trying to get into the car last time the locks froze on me.

    Help...

if you can try to see if you put a lil pressure on the key on the unlock possition with out breaking the key and as you do that hold the door handle open and the door should click open, if this works you should take the panel off and make sure everthing is good around the lock mechinism and use a shit load of penatrant then play with the lock and key to get things freed up then use lube and oil it up...3 of the 2nd gen box body cars we have do simmilar weird things with the front doors and that always seem to fix em

Just found something else out too.

From the inside, when you try to open the door when it is locked, it will not open, when it usually unlocks when you pull the handle inside. Did your's do the same too?

ya, my old mans wagon was like that once, i couldent open the door anyway and the key wouldent turn in the unlock direction so i had to flick the key back and fourth to free it up a bit to unlock it

lock solenoid is probably seized up. Time for a new one. Could also be one of the rods is bent in the door from when it froze up before. I'd say disconnect the rod off the lock solenoid and see if it works normally then. That will tell you if thats the whole problem or what.

I don't know how much I'll be able to do today, but I doubt I'll get the time to take the door panel off...But I can try seeing if I can get the door to click open by holding the handle up.

I could get it open by turning the key as far as possible and pulling the handle.
