    WIRE TUCK TIME!

OK, this is a subject that hasn't been talked about much here and its high time we step it up, Lets talk about Wire tuck techniques and post up some pics.

I'm sorry if this isn't the right section for this one, I wasn't sure if the topic is detailing or electronic work....I kinda think its both.

So far my super-high-tech method is just to eliminate any factory harnesses that contain unnecessary circuits and replicate essential functions with home-built wiring based on the original stuff.

Very nice! Is there anybody that tried this with a 4.6 car? I have to rebuild my front end anyway, I might as well put extra effort into it and make it look nice under the hood.
        More pics please!

And it does NOT have to be JUST Panthers sense the techniques used on any other car can be carried over to the panther

Well, since my motor is shipped off to KMS Engine Development, I figure I have about a month to get my engine bay looking sweet... So I decided to try my hand at a wire tuck. However, I'm not going all out and moving the fusebox into the cabin, I'm just hopeing to relocate it out of site, just...

Well thats all I could find for now.

Thanks, I still have tons more to do. That's mainly a cleanup of the new alarm wiring. I really do like the way loom cleans things up. I also want to some work in the engine bay with the cleaning up the wiring and vac lines. I should get some shots of my Dad's engine bay, he's worked on it a little (02' Grand Prix GTP).

              ooh! Please do!

And I was thinking that since my car needs front end work I might as well take extra time and do a intense wire tuck on it while it is apart, I have to replace the hood and drivers side fender.
I know the fuel injector harness will be a pain on my 4.6 But I am sure a LOT of the other stuff can be tucked up into the fenders and the battery located into the trunk.

has anybody moved the started solenoid up into the cabin?

That sounds potentially dangerous .... though probably no more so than when folks move their batteries to the trunk. Suppose it could be possible to move the solenoid to the trunk along with the battery .....

Possible, but dumb. By moving it that far away you'd need a pretty thick-gauge wire to still provide enough current all the way back to the starter. There are plenty of places in the engine bay you could hide it if you really wanted to move it, but all the way to the trunk is just stupid.

Or you could just cover it with some plastic box of suitable size.

That might work. It would have to stay on the passenger side, Possibly up under the dash and inside one of them small electronic kit boxes you can buy at the local Radio Shack. I'm not sure how the honda boys do it but there engine compartments are squeeky clean.
