    Interior Rust?

I was just wondering if anyone else had encountered this little problem....The little chrome pieces on my visors and my Domelight had like some sort of surface rust on them and I just took a drill and a wire brush and the stuff just came right off.....Any ideas what could cause it? I am thinking a lot of humidity+the car sat for two years, so I am guessing the sitting gave the stuff ample time to build up.....

Hmm, mine never had any rust and Windex keeps them sparkly. The little piece for the visor mainly had nicotine stains (brownish red-looks like rust) & oxidation but that comes off with Windex or even Targon mouthwash. Unfortunately the wire brush does more harm than good because it's more harsh than anything you'd need to get the surface back. Are the pieces all scratched now, the dome should have a mirror finish.

yeah, humidity from sitting. some metal polish will shine it right up. wire brush will scratch the hell out of the chrome.
