    take that you LED fans!

I have not had a chance to pull a cluster out of a junkyard box to experiment with back lighting but I did have a few minutes of free time late one night so on a whim I cracked open the dash and pulled off the covers, because I could not get the light pull tab off I had to settle to just using an allen wrench to slip the covers off the lights and leaving them in there.

Now embrace the warm glowing warm glow of my warm glowing glow of warmness emanating from the gauges.

I always thought it would be neat to do them in red like aircraft or marine stuff. Red lighting on the instruments doesn't mess with your night vision. Blue is actually the worst (but it looks cool)

I hear the color red evokes emotion (ever notice many retailers use the color alot) not something i want when driving

Pontiac has been using red in their gauges for over 10 years now. Tahoes and Yukons still get the shitty green-blue tho, and Escalades have a cool white and darker blue combination. I'll be making my truck backlighting red, my interior light is already red cause I need it on to see my vacuum gauge at night and the red don't mess with visibility through the windshield - tripple dipped the bulb in acrylic candy red paint, and tis a real nice color, but the gauges need to get LEDs for sure.
